Vacu flush problem

My vacu flush toilet has been doing find but now I'm at a campground at 8000ft and it won't ever turn green. Does altitude effect these pumps?

We usually let it run for about 20 seconds or so then flush and it does fine.

Altitude does effect them and they can pump much longer before the light turns green. I have read that they can run up to a minute before completing the cycle.
