So, just purchased a new MH with 2 bathrooms, so we have the Vacuflush system. Is there any maintenance that can help keep the pump from failing? Any way to keep the failure from causing a biohazard of a mess in the bin it’s mounted in? Sounds like keeping a spare on hand is a good idea.

This Is All I Got.

I owned a 2015 35K Bounder for a couple years and 2 vacuflush replacements. The only cure I found for not dealing with that crazy system was to get a Moho w/ 2 gravity toilets..... That said, I still have a brand new complete vacuflush pump still in the box (I always carried a spare)in my Moho basement which I'm happy to sell to a current vacuflush owner in need - PM me if you're interested.

We rarely use our vac toilet, because they are not reliable. When we do its only for liquid not solids. 1/2 bath toilet dumps directly into black tank.

Are you rebuilding or replacing the bellows are you using double clamps on the hoses and are your you using the thin RV toilet paper. Did it ever work properly?

I didn't use double clamps but we do use the 1 ply TP.

Double clamps help with vacuum leak down if you are experiencing that.

I do service on our Magnum-Opus toilet and the vacuum pump every 2 years.
ie: half ball and seal , and replace the bellows and duck bills.
note every month or so I use clr to wipe the bottom side of the half ball seal.
If you consistently cannot maintain vacuum, and you have done the toilet & pump service.. You may have to vacuum test the line from the toilet to the pump.
After 16 years our crossover pipe had developed a hairline crack so would not hold vacuum..
