Valance Removal '08 Discovery

Has anyone out there removed the valances of a 2008 Discovery 40X to know how they are attached as I would like to update to MCD shades. I'm tired of string and crooked day/nights and pieces falling out and shades rubbing on the valance edges.

If you look inside the valances you should see some small metal angles that have screws to attach. You only need to remove one screw for each and the valance will come off.

six years difference in our coaches and to remove mine: if the valance is right under a cabinet you will find two or three screws between the front panel of the valence and the day/night shade that drive upwards into the cabinet. The lowest end of the valance sides where they meet the wall you might find a screw angled into the wall. As RWeigant states you might find small angles holding the tops if not under a cabinet.

On my 07 bounder diesel there are two screws on the inside top of the valence. And two screws that are at an angle on each leg of the valance. If you have a Valance at the end of the cabinets on the drivers side one of the screws is hidden in the cabinet. I had to cut it with a hack saw blade and then use a long wood screw to reattach the valance after the MCD were installed. I did half the MCD without taking down the valances and the other half taking down the valances. Taking down the valances took 1/4 the time. I used a 6" bit drill extension for the screw driver.
