Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issues. We have an 07 Fleetwood Expedition with a Cat C7 300HP on a Freightliner chassis. At 1500rpm, there is a vibration when the engine is under a load. It disappears at @ 1700rpm and is significantly worse when towing a dinghy. This unit has been to Allison, Freightliner, and it has been at Cat for two weeks, and nobody has a clue. Any info would be appreciated.

Have they checked the drive shaft ? Also, take a good look at the ride height.

The driveshaft seems to be the only thing not checked! I have had several people tell me that the driveshaft could be off by one "click" and that could cause a vibration. Due to fact that the drive shaft is only 14" long, I don't believe that anyone is going to take the shaft off and balance it.

Welcome JMJCSIM to irv2.
Your driveshaft may have lost a balanceing weight on the shaft and they should check for that. Your under warranty I would be a PIA until your satisfied.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

JMJCSIM...
well...I guess the guys all think it is the driveshaft...so all I am gonna do is give you a great big friendly "Welcome to the iRV2 forum" greeting!
As you have just experienced... this forum happens to be the friendliest & most knowledgable group of RV owners on the web!
I hope you continue to read and post here often. You will soon find there are things you will be able to answer for others who need some assistance .
You should also ask for some "Fleetwood Owners Karma" ...just to help others see at a quick glance what type of rig you have!
Again... welcome to the iRV2 forum ...and hopefully to the "Fleetwood forum"!!
MM
PS.. better get that driveshaft looked at!

JMJCSIM, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad ot have you join us here and we lookk forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. Shortly after we picked up or used 18 month old coach I had a vibrration under load. It turned out to be bad universal joints at each end of the drive shaft. THey replaced them and it has been fine since. Good luck and keep us posted on this issue and of any other.

Just an FYI. My unit has been at the Cat dealer for the past week and he just called me to pick up the unit. He says that they found the #6 injector not opererating properly. They replaced it and now the vibration is gone. I'm going to pick it up on Thursday, so wish me luck. This has only been going on for about 8 months.
