We are having a problem with the built in digital voltmeters located in the panel with the tank levels.

Both of the voltmeters (chassis and house) are reading 19.99 volts. But, the battries themselves are reading just fine (~13.2 volts) across the terminals using a good digital voltmeter. We have the stock Southwind set-up, one 12V chassis battery and two Trojan T 105s in series for the house.

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure who makes the display/metering panel for Fleetwood, but I'd find out and call them. I had trouble with my AC/Heating thermostat module, which is built by Intellitec, and when I called Fleetwood about the panel they couldn't give much help. I then called Intellitec and they were very helpful.

So try and find out who builds that part of the system (maybe by calling Fleetwood) and then call the manufacturer directly.

At a guess, 19.99 is the max reading of the display. That usually indicates a failure of some sort, often just a shorted or open circuit in the line somewhere. Since both battery banks read the same, I would guess a problem at the display end rather than the battery end.

I'm guessing you have the type of monitor with one display and a switch to select either chassis or house (maybe called Main and Auxiliary). Perhaps the controller behind the switch is the problem? Can you find the actual voltage sense lines behind the monitor panel?
