Water leak

2021 discovery LXE 40 M. Water leak behind the washing machine in the back bathroom. Running under the main floor. Any tips for washer removal and access to the subfloor? Thanks for any advice you have.

A neighbor in the park helped me out. In this unit we took off the doors then the face panel and it came right out. Leak was loose shower fitting. Now just need to get the subfloor dry. Upper right corner of the face panel has a screw hidden underneath the door trim. Had to pry it out a little to get to the screw then wiggle it out. Over all went well but they should have put the hidden screw below the trim so I could remove it without the extra drama.

Patrick,

Water leakage into the subfloor can cause serious damage and the possibility of mold (especially if it was a discharge leakage) which needs to be addressed urgently to mitigate long term damage. Generally, this requires professional expertise. I would recommend you contact your service provider or our NIRVC Phoenix AZ location.

pwconnelly, sorry to hear that you must have had the same plumber I had on my 2019 coach, same leak in the fittings behind the shower valve and pulling the washer was the same solution. They apparently just assembled the plumbing fittings and forgot to tighten them all up.

If your 40M is like mine, there is a wide trim board in the bedroom, that when removed, reveals an opening through the wall to the back side of the washer, you may have been able to tighten the fittings reaching through that opening. I didn't know about it when mine was leaking so I removed the washer also.

thanks all for the replys. The leak was a loose shower fitting at the valve. I was able to tighten it by hand (with a little extra) and found that all of the fittings were a little loose. So hopefully no more leaks. I tightened the sinks too.

Interesting removal of the washer. There is a moulding on the bathroom door that I had to loosen to get to a screw underneath to release the washer face door panel. It was easy after that. Really dumb to hide it there when they have plugs on the other five screw holes. Had a fan in the subfloor space for about two days to dry it out and now seems dry. It was wet for a short time and hopefully no further troubles. I will pull it open again to check it and maybe spray some antimould into the space if there is something available.

Regards
