Water Pressure
When I'm hooked up to city water I have less pressure than when using the tank water. Is that due to the pressure regulator on the hose?
Thanks

I believe there are fixed and adjustable pressure regulators, have a look at yours to see if it can be turned up.

Thats the same in our case. Regulator, no regulator, regulator that you can adjust = on board water pump always delivers more/better water pressure than that coming from the camp pedestal.
We usually travel with about 1/2 our fresh water tank filled. Then when we arrive at the campground I fill up the on board tank all the way and we use the on board system. Makes for a much better shower experience.
Others may disagree and YMMV

First time I ever heard that one. What model water pump does your RV have?
It really boils down to what PSI the RV pump puts out vs the PSI at the 'city water faucet' has.
I'll bet this city water output will deliver more pressure than your water pump! The campground had signs posted indicating "water regulator required"

I doubt the regulator (if any) has anything to do with it. "City" water comes at whatever psi the "city (RV park, local town, whatever) decided to deliver. In my home community it's about 42-45 psi, less than the 50 psi I have my onboard pump set for. I've been in campgrounds where "city" is as low as 30 psi and as high as 70 psi. And have been in campgrounds that warned of "city" pressures potentially as high as 100 psi.
Many RVs come from the factory with the onboard pump set for 45 psi.

Get this. RV parks water pressure is all over the place 30-120 psi seen it all. This one allows you to set the max pressure you desire and displays what the park pressure is.
Good Luck.

Probably not. You don't know until you install a gauge so you can "see" exactly what the CG pressure is. You should carry or install a real adjustable gauge/regulator for those few times when pressure is too high.

We always use water from the tank with the on board pump, way less pressure variably and we know the water in the tank is fresh all the time. Plus when Joe Blow a few sites over knocks over the pedestal because he doesn’t know how to back his trailer and the campground turns off the water for a bit, we have water.
I added a 12V valve on a timer so filling the tank is easy.

I was at a cabin resort that had unbelievable pressure. When I asked the owner what pressure he was running he told me 250 psi! I asked why so high and he said that’s what was listed on the pipe. He actually thought that was the recommended psi and did not know that was the burst pressure. True Story.

That's pretty incredible. I wouldn't doubt the system has many leaks at that level. Wow

I'm pretty confident he merely thought it was running at 250 psi because of the pipe lettering. Surely no community water system or well pump was actually supplying 250 psi - that would be dangerous! Typical residential water pumps aren't even capable of that much pressure - usually well under 100 psi max.
