Water Pumps

Our new Bounder has a noisy water pump that is a source of angst to my wife. Is there a silent "on-demand" water pump available?

Ours was very noisy when new. We discovered the noise was not coming from the pump, but from vibrating pipes from the water pulses. We installed an air cushion tank & solved the problem.

Water pump noise typically comes from the mounting and the hoses rather tan the pump itself. You probaly have nearly rigid Pex or polybutyl plumbing, so try adding a short section of flexible hose to the pump outlet side, between pump and pex. Leave some slack so it doesn't vibrate. Also put some thick rubber pad under the pump mount to absorb virbation.

Here is an article with some tips:

You can try a variable speed pump - that may help too. But it will likely still vibrate at full flow.

Ours was so noisey we could not use the toilet at night without waking everyone.
as stated above, we also installed longer OUT hoses, and that stopped it, totally.
us enough hose to make at least one loop, so it can move with any vibration.
