Bounder: We Have A Leak!!??

It's me again with another problem with our new 2014 Fleetwood Bounder 35k.
We have a lot of moisture, actually more like a leak dripping down the chassis on either side of the entry way stairs. Our outside mat was soaked on one side from all this moisture. We were thinking possible air conditioner condensation, but we can't tell and neither could Lazy Days. Thank goodness it's on the outside. Any ideas? Thanks.

I would think air conditioning if you are running it.

If its on the outside, I would think your OK. When the outside leaks in is when you have the problem. Change the level of the rv ever so slightly to get the ac to drain off a different side. If that solves the problem then you have no problem.

As others have said, AC condensation. I usually get mine drivers side rear, and midpoint of coach on passenger side. In high heat/humidity I can get some nice puddles going.

Agree--air conditioning condensate. I'm shocked that Lazy Days couldn't determine what the "problem" is.

My husband did some trouble shooting today and determined that the "leak" was not coming from the air conditioning units or condensation. We had thought a month ago that we might have a problem with our ice maker in the refrigerator, but Lazy Days said it was working "as designed". So he opened the access panel below the fridge and there was moisture there. He turned off the ice maker and turned off the water source to the ice maker. The leaks are gone now. The one dripping outside, midship from the center seam down and the steady drip from the chassis on either side of the steps.

Soooo, it's back to Lazy Days for MORE warranty work....

Well, that's annoying. I guess when you said "dripping down the chassis" in your original post we all assumed you meant from the roof. Hope they get you fixed up ASAP.

Exact same thing happened to our Bounder. We had water dripping out around step and we could not get the ice maker to work. When I turned water to ice maker off the dripping stopped. They ended up pulling out the fridge and found that the water supply hose was installed against something hot and melted a hole in the hose, thus no ice and water leaking behind fridge running towards entry door and leaking out. I have yet to use M/H to see if problem is solved. It is back in repair shop again right now having the generator fixed. Apparently cummins has had a run of bad fuel pumps. This is its third time back for generator repairs. Owned for eight months and it has been in repair shop more often than not.

I think I read about the Onan fuel pump failures on the Thor section (or one of the other manufacturers.) Ugh, what a pain. I hope there aren't too many generators installed with the faulty fuel pumps. If so, they should be doing a recall.

This new repair shop I am at told me there is a recall on the units they rent out. He had more than 30 pumps in stock.

I'm glad they are aware of the problem and can get people fixed up. Since our Bounder is 2 years old, this is one recall we won't have to worry about. I hope you get everything squared away and can begin enjoying your beautiful new RV.

You'll get it all worked out I assure you. Not fun, we all want better QC but manufacturers have to competitive. I don't get it? Surely what they pay to the repairing dealer is very costly. The good news it goes away and your going to have a greater lifestyle, enjoy!

Picked up Bounder from shop today, generator working great now. Turns out it was a faulty fuel pump. Apparently there is a recall out from Cummins but only on a need to fix basis. I guess the wheel has to squeak before it gets greased.
