Welcome to iRV2 .
Do you have any idea the name of the manufacturer of your coaches dash HVAC system ? Evans ? Denzo ?
The part may have an orifice, or simply be an adapter between the two male treads.

Could be a debris screen in case the , material in the receiver/dryer breaks down . To keep the debris from going through the system and plugging the expansion valve and damaging the compressor.
Evans HVAC system has vacuum controls for all the functions , and on diesel pushers they have a vacuum pump, red circle.
The Evans logo is in the plastic housing , as in this photo. Blue oval.
I've been to the Evans parts site and can't find the part, but online they don't show fittings and hoses.

Some diagrams that may help if your dash A/C system is Evans / Tempcon .
The second diagram list the part as a " coupling half "
Do a Google search for " Johnnies A/C parts warehouse " The web site has 800# listed maybe they can help.

I would think if you took a picture of the dryer with that piece on it to a NAPA ,they would know what it is.

You have an AC system from Denso, THe fitting in question is a "dry break valve". It is designed to allow the coach manufacture to attach the Denso components to the Chassis manufacture components without loss of stored refrigerant in the compressor, condenser @ receiver/dryer.
I have the same unit on my Bounder. When I went to replace my dryer, I remover the dryer and replaced it with a dryer with two 3/8" tube "o" ring fittings. Then I cut the fitting off the OEM hose and replaced it with a 90 degree barbed on one end and a 3/8" tub "o" ring on the other end to attach to the dryer.
I can tell you that your OEM dryer will be over the top, price wise.
You/me may get some flack about barbed fittings but when done properly, they last as long as the factory crimped fittings.
