What is this valve

Getting ready to head out for the first trip in our new 2018 Bounder! Trying to figure out what this valve is for! I can’t seem to turn it. Hope someone can help.

That valve determines where the water flowing through that hose connection next to it goes. Normal will send it to the fixtures with the coach, tank will direct the water to fill the fresh water tank. Winterize is used for winterizing (maybe bypasses the hot water heater). I can't see the label for the other position in the picture.

There should be more detail in your owners manual.

The labels show normal/sanitize. Could be a black tank flush.

One thing to be careful about, never turn the lever when there is water pressure applied to the inlet. There are small O-rings inside of the valve and they are easily displaced or ripped if the valve is turned under pressure.

Looks to me, normal would let water go into MH and tank would fill tank.

Please look at post #27 in this thread there is an attachment explaining the "Anderson Valve" If the valve does not rotate you already have a problem as it should.

Normally this valve works as follows:

Normal = Water Pump on and drawing water from the 100 gal water tank
Fill = takes water from incoming hose and fills 100 gal water tank
City = water pressure is supplied directly from the incoming hose to water fixtures in the coach

Oh, I have had a lot of experience with this valve in our previous coach. I won't bore you with the details. However, if it really will not turn you do have a problem as mentioned previously by another poster.

Google "Anderson Brass Company" and you will get their website. They were very helpful each time i contacted them with a problem. They are just outside Darlington SC.

Good luck. I wasn't overjoyed to see it in the our new RV but hopefully it will go smoother then with the previous RV!

Give it a forceful turn. Anderson valves take a little effort, more than you might expect. If it's already broke, it won't matter if you break it more.

Google "Anderson 200RV Repair Kit" and it will give you the info on the replacement insert for the valve. The repair kit costs about $25 and take less that 1/2 hour to install.

Make sure to release pressure on valve by opening g low point drains and turning off pump. Valve will turn easier. Tank pushes water to holding tank. City is city hookup. Sanitize is for winterizing. Normal is for using tank water to all fixtures
