If those are the only 2 places monitored in the coach, their placement wouldn't distinguish much between front and rear temps. Do they monitor temps for the A/C as well?
Yes, they are connected to the thermostat and help to control whatever is connected to the thermostat - AC, heat pump and furnace.
I have 2. One right behind the driver's seat to control the front unit and one in the BR to control the rear unit.

OK, after reading csbaer reply, I went back to read the OP's post. Maybe they aren't temp sensors like we thought it was. Unscrew the 2 screws and see if you find 2 wires attach to the underside of the subject. If no wires, then I think the "wisecrackers" who replied are on to something.

They're not IN the bathroom. They're on either side of the bathroom door in the hallway. They don't turn. I may unscrew one just to see how they're wired, though I don't plan on messing with it. Odd that the center button is spring loaded. Is that some sort of reset?

The OP has the exact same yr coach as mine, it looks exactly like the 2 in our coach & they ARE temp sensors for the thermostat & as such, they monitor the air for the A/C as well as the heat. FW was (& probably still is) well known for not being very smart on their placement.

Thought I'd add photos of wires attached to sensor and sensor placement in the hallway. They're a little over 5' off the floor and either side of the bathroom.

Clifftall , I don't think they are ever mounted in the right spots.

Glad this was asked as I was wondering the same thing. Enjoyed the oddball responses too 😁
