What slide seals?

Had a bunch of water pouring in the pantry of our 2015 Excursion 35b during a rainy weekend. Couldn't understand how since the slide cover should have kept the rain off of the top of the slide. Turns out the rain gutter seam right above was leaking water thru the joint and collecting on the slide. Was able to craft a sleeve out of a straw and a little flex seal and that problem was fixed. However, it gave me the opportunity to take a better look at the slide seals as I would have thought they still should have prevented the water from getting in.

The big wiper/bulb seals do not reach the top of the slide. There is 1/2 gap so the top seals are doing nothing. Is this gap normal? There is also the "D" gasket which I assume should be installed on the inside of the slide that is laying loose below the wiper seal. Should this seal be on the inside and close against the inner wall? How the heck do you reach across the top, the isn't much room below the ceiling? Anyone have pics of what the seals should look like?

One last question. In order to replace the outside seals, the slide covers will need to come off. Any videos or instuctions about how to remove and re-install without having them loose tension or unwind?

Find your owner's manual for part numbers for your model coach, look at videos on YouTube for slide seal replacement and maintenance. often times you can get a good look at what your system should look like and possibly find a video that will address your exact problem. I have a Winnebago and keep my slide seals lubed with rubber seal lubricant, the only place I have a small opening is at the bottom right corner of my kitchen slide but it's a non-issue for water and I spray it with bug spray. I have had my slides out in pouring rain and haven't had leaks. Hope you find what you need.
