What The...Lamp wiring.

I'm replacing the light fixtures next to the bed, in a 2005 35E. Facing the bed, fixture is right side, on wardrobe side, wiring is short and will not pull out of the wall. I pulled the wiring out of the old fixture in order to get some length. There is a push button switch wired in from old fixture.. See photo. Any ideas how I should wire new fixture in? New fixture is just black and white wires.
As a test, if the push button is on, I can make contact with new fixture to the clear lamp wires, and new fixture lights up, in any configuration. I have no idea which clear lamp wire is positive and negative. I do want to get rid/ bypass that push button switch.
No easy access from the other side of wall.

Nothing is ever straight forward in this bounder! Help!

If the 12v fixture is just standard incandescent bulb, it makes no difference which wire is which. If it's a LED, then polarity may or may not matter depending on the bulb. Some bulbs will work either way and some are polarity dependent.

Replaced the map lights in our 06 Bounder w/LED ones. Polarity did matter. If the wires were connected wrong, the fixture wouldn't light.

I'm using LED bulbs. I connected the new fixture wires to the clear lamp wires and it did not matter which wires touched, it worked both ways. This is not congruent with the other fixtures I've replaced in the RV. Is there a fire concern? Or with 12v, no concern?
Also need to eliminate the pushbutton switch. Looking at it again, can I cut it out and connect the black wire directly to blue wire nut connection?
My concern: I don't know what connections are in the wall. It seems I can make it work, but are there any risks involved?

Thanks in advance for input. This is my first motorhome and I'm learning on the fly.

AFAIK, it's 12v. Harmless.

LED bulbs sometimes have diodes & a capacitor built in & don't care about polarity. Some even work on 12 Volts AC, as is commonly used in low voltage yard lighting. I got this bulb for about a buck on eBay.
