When looking at an 05 Fleetwood Jamboree...

I am looking at an 05 Fleetwood Jamboree 29V to buy. My wife and I went over it with just an initial inspection and I have the results listed below.

The Good:
  • Super clean compared to other RV's I've looked at.
  • New Awning
  • New tires all around.
  • All doors/drawers work perfectly
  • Fridge, stove, oven, and microwave look brand new and no odors.
  • Onan Microquite 4000 generator only has 171 hours on it, starts right up, looks clean, no visible leaks.
  • Ford V-10 turns over without hesitation, good idle, no unusual noises/belt squeals/etc.
  • Toilet, sink clean, functioning, no apparent signs of leaks.
  • Shower is clean, no signs of leaks.
  • All outside panels are easy to open/secure.
  • Propane tanks is rust free and hoses/valves look in good condition.
  • All window seals look good.
  • No damaged upholstery or carpeting any where.
  • No missing/broken drapes or blinds. All fully fully functional and no tears.
  • Interior control panel fully functional and shows all batteries in good state.
  • All the plumbing I could find looks solid and intact with no signs of leakage.
  • No soft spots anywhere.

The bad:
  • Over head bunk forward facing window has a rock chip that expanded into a crack on the passenger side.
  • Small area of surface scratches on the back passenger side where it looks like a PO might have scraped a tree. No actual dents and is only noticeable if you are standing right next to it. Purely cosmetic.
  • Engine has 86000 miles on it (pre-purchase inspection already scheduled).
  • Floor has a water stain right next to the shower stall. Could be from some over flow but the floor is solid as is the wood around it.
  • Wife didn't like the mattress but that's an easy fix.
This is our first motor home buying experience and I have done a lot of research but if there are "gotchas" that I need to look out for and didn't catch on the first go round please feel free to let me know what to look for because I will be driving down to my mechanic on Monday for the pre-purchase inspection and I can look it over again then.

And I already have a 2 year/24K mile Exclusionary power train and "box" warranty this RV qualifies for that I plan on purchasing if everything checks out for peace of mind.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

See if you can find someone that has a moisture meter, possibly a home inspector, and have them check around and under all the windows for past leaks. Class C is specifically vunerable to leaks around the front and side overhang windows. Might also check around plumbing fixtures like toilet and shower pan while you are at it. We replaced our mattress as well and went with a fairly inexpensive foam mattress that we had cut down and shaped to fit the bed. We don't use the slide in/out for the mattress anymore so it is one piece. Works for us.

Hope this helps.

Actually that does. Never thought of a moisture meter before.

I did get the Jamoree but the "tioga stx" part is not part of the name so I don't know exactly what you looked at.

Prepurchase inspection checked out clean on the power train (as did the VIN report). They found the main battery was dead, the grey water tank drain line had a leak, and a pinion seal leak. I got the dealership to replace all the batteries, fix the line and they reduced the price $250 so I could fix the pinion seal at my mechanic so all in all I think I made out pretty good.

And some how I ended up with a full tank of gas (they said they would include half a tank) and a full tank of propane (already included).

We take her out this weekend on her maiden voyage to southern New Mexico to visit White Sands National Monument and fully check everything out.
