Why not follow what the engine manufacturer says in their warranty papers?

rmueller, I just follow the MH manual. If you need one, let this forum know and someone will point you to a download or a pdf file.

On the F53 it is recommended every 5000 miles, I had my first one done by the dealer at 2400 miles as that was all the delivery miles and I wanted to start with a fresh oil change. I did the second one at 7200 miles, and will do another one before our next trip and it will only have about 10,550 miles on it. So it really doesn't matter, and most likely depends on your travel plans, but it's recommended at every 5000 at the very least.

I Changed mine at 1000 miles with the factory motor craft oil and then at 3000 I changed it and switched over to mobile 1 and have done it every 3000 miles. We currently have 15000 on it. I installed a fumoto valve so it takes about 10 minutes to change oil and filter. Some call it overkill with the mobile 1, I call it good insurance.

I did as suggested, well mostly...
Got the ford manual, read all their advice, then did as I done with all my vehicles. Went with my favorite, Mobile 1 Extended 5W20. I'll change that at 5000 mile intervals.
The Ford manual is pretty comprehensive. I was pretty impressed, and I learned a bunch about the chassis warrantee, that's also impressive. The dealer just glossed over all that stuff. I almost bought road additional road insurance, turns out Ford covers just about the same stuff the add on insurances do...along with my auto policy I'm covered quite nicely
Thanks for the advice
Ron

I think a bunch of people don't realize that they get roadside assistance from Ford as well. They will tow it free of charge to a local ford dealer if repairs are needed.

That is true for the engine or chassis issues, but you still might want a road assistance plan for tire issues, I don't think Ford is going to provide any assistance for a flat tire. When I bought my extra warranty on the MH I got the one that only covers the actual MH, and the Ford warranty covers the chassis and drivetrain for 5 years.

I change annually in my birthday month. Only put on a few thousand miles / year.

You are 100% correct.
I will add that most people will not know about the Ford ESP Premium Maintenance Plan which I purchased. I do NO MAINTENANCE. Not even brake pads, shocks, brake fluid changes (every two years), grease, oil and any other thing you USE UP while driving. Cost? $20 per month over the life of the plan. Paid off in 21 months interest free.
I posted about this before. Almost nobody here cared.
The plan brochure:

This is NOT a warranty. You get something back for your money and you stay off your back.
