Where’s My Cable TV Connection Location? 🧐

Hi folks, I have a 2022 Holiday Rambler Armada 40M and for the life of me cannot find the connection inside the RV to watch cable TV (from Camp hookup) on any TV.

In our living room, driver’s side, next to main TV (#1) reside the connections for all four TVs. The only two coaxial cables are marked RF1 and RF2, which are reserved ( I believe) for Sat 1 & Sat 2, respectively.

Outside, in the utility/water hookup area, is the cable-in (from camp cable supply). However, there seems to be no corresponding connection in the RV, certainly not in the living room with the aforementioned connections.

I even tried to hook our mini cable box to both RF cables with no success.

I am at a loss for what to do to run standard cable. I feel it has to be in the RV somewhere, otherwise there wouldn’t be the camp cable hookup.

If you have a similar, newer model rig (e.g. 2021/22) it is probably connected the same way.

On the roof I have satellite with two connections (RF1 & RF2), Winegard RoadTrip T4, Winegard Air 360, WiFi Ranger Denali and King cell signal booster.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely…

I would think that the cable is already wired to the TV and you just have to change the “Source” on the TV.

Where’s My Cable TV Connection Location? [emoji3166]

There’s should be a wall switch somewhere that powers the OTA antenna for the TVs. Chances are that button is turned on which will distort the incoming cable signal and result in loss of cable signal.

May look like this Click image for larger version

And you have to scan for cable channels on each TV once everything is on. Should be a cable input option on the tv

Check the electrical bay for a 75 ohm connector similar that shown in post #3. It may or may not be mounted in a single gang plate as shown.

And you might check your coaches manual in the A/V section for where the hookup is.

Or there may be a coiled coax stored in the electrical bay.

I have the "sister" to your coach, FW Discovery LXE 40M...

If you are hooked up to park cable and have run the application on the TV's to assign the channels and cannot see anything, then your antenna booster may be on. For cable viewing, it has to be off...

Look in the front upper cabinet over the windshield on the passenger side. You'll see a switch cover with a little black button with a small green light... If the light is on, then the booster is on. Turn it off, then run the channel set-up again on your TV's. That should cure the issue...

The first night we were in our coach after we drove it off the lot, I figured this out myself...

Thanks for all of the responses. I guess my problem is that I have nowhere in the RV to connect the cable box. I tried to use either of the coax connections I mentioned, and connected the hdmi to it and I can see on the main tv, but there is no signal to the box. So, those cables are not part of the park connection…. I am trying to find a live cable connection to connect my box to. I even took the box to the park office and they pulled up channels no problem (the box is good). So, still looking for the “other end” of the park connection that is inside the living area of my RV.

Attached is a pic of my on/off switch (notice no coax connection)

Thank you…

I guess I'm confused.... why would you need to connect to a cable box? All the TV's in your coach should be able to tune into any of the channels the park has to offer...

I don’t understand either. The cable for the campground hookup that’s in your wet bay should already be hooked up to the TVs from the factory. As I mentioned you should be able to select it by choosing another “source on your TV. Your cable box should be installed to the cable in the electronics. Ambient and either another cable that goes to your TV or an HDMI cable to the TV. Whichever was installed by the factory. The on off switch that you show is for your roof antenna. Behind that plate there is a connection for your antenna and another cable that goes to the TV. Don’t have to touch those. Again, should be able to select the roof antenna on your TV by selecting yet another source.

A very few RV parks still use digital cable that requires a set top box. Your coach is wired for standard cable with the input straight to your TV. About the only way to do what you want is disconnect the coax from the back of your TV and connect it to the cable box. From your cable box, I would bet it's a HDMI output to the TV.

I have attached pictures of what I have behind the faceplate I posted…

I thought I could connect there to get cable to the entire rig. Why else should they install a multi-channel splitter to reach each tv?

Would I be able to install yet another splitter at the “cable” connection behind this plate and connect the cable box?

Thanks!

It still makes no sense to me what you are trying to do. You should have cables available in your electronics cabinet for the cable box

Those 2 cables that are in the picture of your first post is where the cable box goes.

Let me tell you, we are full time and the place we are currently actually uses a micro box. Cable subscription is INCLUDED with our price, and a box, albeit small, is required.

But, no worries. I will figure it out. I do appreciate the responses, they got me thinking outside the box.

Respectfully…

Ok. I get it now. Sorry that I didn’t understand before you just clarified. I would hook up that box where the “PRK” cable it behind that junction. Put the “PRK” cable to the “IN” on the box and then put the the cable from then other connection from the box to the junction box where the “PRK” cable is currently connected.
