Sorry but as a rule. Chassis engine chassis batteries. Generator batteries are the house batteries. The real reason is so if one back of batteries are dead you can still start chassis engine or generator

Still not sure? Simple fix. Raise the hood and disconnect the engine (chassis) battery. Will the generator start? Yes = the house (coach) batteries start the generator. No = The engine battery starts the generator.
