2 years ago we had to have our front windshield replaced. It was done through Ancira in Boerne TX but it was actually done by a 3rd party vendor out of San Antonio TX. Ancira is unable to tell me the vendor for unknown reasons.

The rubber trim that goes around the windshield started failing and coming off on the 2nd trip out..

First the corner pieces fell off then the sides, top and bottom pieces started flapping in the wind so I removed them completely. I found a similar trim on Amazon and put it on to protect the edges of the windshield but it is now failing also.

Since it is not the correct material I would like to locate the correct trim and corner pieces so I can replace them soon.

Does anyone know exactly what it is, where I can get it? The trim is about 1" wide and has dedicated 90 degree corner pieces. Its held in place with a double sided trim tape and I need to know which tape to use. The tape they used and subsequently the tape I used failed quickly so I need to know if there is a special tape for this trim material.

When driving it starts flapping against the windshield, top or side of coach and is AMAZINGLY ANNOYING..........Like a drummer for 800 miles... AARRGGG

I had the same thing happen. I ended up calling the glass manufacturer, it is stamped into the lower drivers side corner on mine and it was Coach Glass. They called mine standard trim and I mitered the corners. I was told to clean the edges with alcohol and the 3M tape would stick very good, well it did not. After that, they suggested that I get windshield mastic and redo the trim with that. I ended up using JB Weld that I had in the loose areas and that is holding up for a year now. It's a bit messy, used a small screw driver as an applicator cleans up with rubbing alcohol, taped down with blue painters tape for a day.

I really don't want to JB weld my trim on.. I seriously hope it does not come to that..

I did clean the heck out of the glass and the paint that it was affixed to with pre tap prep used by body shops. The tape I used was a med duty. I will change to a sever duty tape next go around.

When dealing with older MH, sometimes it is better to glue it. A $20 tube of the black polyurethane they use to install windshields will absolutely solve your problem. Just clean the area well, use good masking tape and lay it on. Yes it will be a problem for some windshield guy if and when you have to replace the thing, but- that may be many years or owners away from now.
