Winshield Wipers No Go
Today we drove from storage over to MCD to drop off for install of American Duo shades (a 9 mile trip for us - yippee). Wouldn't ya know it - a little rain and no windshield wipers. If I press the button the washers and wipers work but no push - pull turn of knob will start them up.
I wouldn't think they would work at all if it were a fuse but guess there could be two fuses. And clearly it's not the motors because they do work with the washers. They worked just fine the last time I needed them. I had lights and everything else functioned properly.
Any idea where the wiper fuse or fuses are or ever hear of such a thing? Won't pick it up from MCD until Friday. For now no rain in the forecast but want to get on this one as soon as I can.
Thanks much.

Sounds like the switch is going bad or the the wireconnector on the switch is loose. try the connector first.

Now, I don't want to sound like a thread killer, but I see you are driving a fleetwood, which chassis? If it is a Frieghliner, I had a problem with my windshield wiper switch too. Like you said, if you pushed it the washers worked and the wipers, wiped, but that was the only way. Well, the switch on my Discovery, has a little round knob, that has to be turned to make them work. Before you get all excited, and buy a new one, (like I did) make sure you know how it works?LOL!!

GreaTOne - I hope you have killed this thread, but won't know for sure until Friday. Note I did say: "but no push - pull turn of knob will start them up", because yes - it's a Freightliner and there are any number of possible pushes, pulls, turns of the knobs on the switch(s) and I may have had a senior moment with the thing.
Funny thing is, I never had a problem with it before. But hey, I used to have hair on the top of my head too. Thanks for instruction on how to use my ww switch - which by the way is not in the owners manual.
You also brought to my attention that I neglected to list the chassis in the signature - so I updated that as well.
Thanks much!

GreatOne - thanks for answering my PM and for killing the thread. The outer ring had been pulled up around the middle button that you turn to operated the wipers. Guess I did that somehow - but once it's pushed back... Well you know the rest. If my switch ever dies, at least I know where to get one. Of course having spares is a good thing. Which I've been meaning to post to full timers about what spares they carry - belts - filters - wiper switches. Lol
Thanks again.
