Thumbs up 1981 FRX - P30 Chassis Wiring Diagram

Hi Folks,

Have had me this project 1981 Foretravel that I have had sitting for a crash pad in Texas when I am in town. Everything worked when I parked it in 2014. Now I don't have any rear marker lights or signals. I think some rats chewed some wires as I see some scat.

I was wondering if anyone had any wiring diagrams of a P30 Chevy Chassis for 1981 that I can start with. The RV manufacturer should not matter. This has a 7.4L 454 Q Jet power plant that runs like a watch. I am completely going through and updating this to take over the road as I am recently retired. I will start at the front and trace replace all grounds, chewed wires, etc.

I searched here and did not come up with complete 1981 Chevrolet Forward Chassis wiring diagrams. I did get a great repair manual for all else.

Thanks in advance to you fellow RV restoring folks that could share any diagrams or advice.

Cheers!

Kevin

Imho I bet.. the wiring was eaten thru between fuel tank and frame rail.. that is where I would start.. next would be quick look at pass side under.. near rear bumper.. you might get lucky.. use cellphone with flash on and record over top of fuel tank.. and between fuel tank and frame.. remember cellphone is your best friend and fits where your head cannot.. you could by a fluke meter they are cheap.. big hardware store.. and it will trace the problem in feet.. also.. remove taillights and closely inspect each wire.. they corroded off sometimes there..
Good luck and keep us posted

Thumbs up

Thanks Don

I will take a look under there as soon as I get out there again next week. I also noticed the gas sending unit is showing way over full so this may be related. I appreciate the suggestion on using the cell phone camera as my fat ass don't fit under there to easily. Laughs.

Have a great day!

Cheers!
