Considering a Foretravel from a Country Coach

I currently have a 2000 40' CC Intrigue but have been looking at a couple of Foretravel coaches at Motorhomes of Texas.
I wouldn't be gaining much in years but would I be gaining anything with the Foretravel brand.
I have air ride & leveling. Hurricane diesel furnace. Side radiator.
CC seems to be quality built.
I read somewhere about the bulkhead? in some Foretravel models.

I really can't say. Other than my coach being 20+ years old now.
I have always thought Foretravels were a very nice coach.

Just don't know if I would really be gaining anything.

I'm not sure that's worth the cost, only you can make that determination. For several years CC and Foretravel were considered equal and the top lines just below a Prevost conversion.

Most likely isn't. I do like the fact they are still in business.
I am just thinking of actually retire (again) Feb 2022 and had thoughts of a little newer one. BUT, I do realize that what I have is a very well built motorhome. Case being,
In March when all this changed for us all, we were in Arizona headed to Nevada to visit Grandkids. Decided to forgo that idea as they closed Nellis AFB. Son in stationed there. Anyway we came home and I stayed home until June. I drove to the midwest then to Colorado, and ended up in Nevada.
I returned home end of July. September we left again to to Colorado, and you guessed it, ended up in Vegas again this September and returned home late October.
Point being, during my 9000+ miles, no mechanical issues. Another coach??
Getting a newer year model? Would it drive any nicer? More comfortable?

The lit 350 does a good job. Does't use oil, no leaks. I've invested in new shocks and tires. If I keep this one, strongly thinking about replacing the airbags. Seems like a good idea since they serve both leveling and ride duties.
I changed from flat towing a full size pickup to a jeep. Lost about 1500lbs. Jeeps more fun in Colorado

Now when I retire I will continue to travel to the same areas but the trips will extend in time and miles will be compiled more slowly.

I went from a 2006 Country Coach to 2009 Foretravel Nimbus - no regrets

Been looking at various high end coaches for an upgrade. Foretravel is tops on our list - however, we have no experience or first hand knowledge of the Foretravel coaches. Because of prices, we are limited to something in the 2006 to maybe 2011 range. Every manufacture has their good and bad years and/or models - it just happens. My question to forum members is the Phenix better than the Nimbus? Or are they just different trim levels? And are there any particular years that are better or worse than others? Greatly appreciate any input and/or advice from forum members.

Think you will find the Phenix an upscale version of the Nimbus. Depending on year, could have a bigger engine, better appliances. etc. But both built on a Foretravel chassis. This outfit gets both on consignment, you can check some specs there.

Mr_D, I came across your post while scrolling the Foretravel Owner's Forum, and your "personal RV summary" at the bottom of your post suggests you might have info that wud be of help to me.

I am looking for a used RV with high HP. My business was trucking, and it is common to say, "One can never have too much." I've had a fair amount of experience with a 2006 Monaco Dynasty. Like the coach, but the ISL 400 is underpowered for a tag axle coach IMHO. I commenced my search looking for Monaco and CC with ISX 600 or ISX 650. I started serious consideration of Foretravel based on superb reputation, supreme owner loyalty, and on the availability of factory service. Of course, the latter is the one item Monaco and CC don't have. I plan to keep the coach I purchase for a long time, and I worry about parts availability for the "house."

You, Sir, have both a 2009 CC and the ISX 650. These are my questions:

1. What is your experience with and availability of service and parts for your CC?

2. The ISX 650 is said by some to have potential for dropped valves. I suspect you have heard of this, so I won't over-detail here except to say those who claim this blame EGR's effect on the valve stems in either #1 or #6 cylinder. (I can't recall which.) As an owner, what has been your experience, and what is your satisfaction with the ISX 650?

Your thoughts would be highly appreciated. And by the way, your views of the ISX 650 could conceivably add one Country Coach, one Monaco, and one Foretravel back to my list of "possibles." I had removed them purely due to the ISX 650.
