electrical bay fan

My circulation fan in the electrical bay of my 2003 u320 will turn on and run at temps below what the thermostat is set, per Foretravel I have used an ice cube on the thermostat to stop it. Has anyone found a more reliable stat, [the stat does work correctly on occasion,Foretravel says this is a common problem] or some other modification.I have tried working the adjustment screw back and forth ,it is set at 95/100. I would appreciate help from anyone that has had this problem. Thank You, Bob

In my friends 01 and now his 07 we found that the elect bay was so hot a 12v computer muffin fan running quietly all the time pushing out the hot air was a good thing. All the stuff makes so much heat we could raise bread dough in the bay.
