Foretravel Questions

Hello all, I recently purchased an 89 gran villa foretravel and am having difficulty finding rear drums and shoes. It is a pusher and has air brakes.

Has anyone done an upgrade from the old Eaton wedge style brakes to the new Q style? If so, what parts interchanged. I can change the spider assembly as it is a bolt on. If anyone swapped out the entire rear end.. which one works?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Tim

You might contact Motorhomes of Texas in Nacogdoches, TX. Big reseller of Foretravel and lots of knowledge.

There is also a wealth of knowledge and information at foreforums. We're looking for our next motorhome. It will be a Foretravel so I have been spending a lot of time there. The suggestion to reach out to MOT was a good one as well. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience with Foretravel units. Good luck with your coach.

The ORED chassis design and specs was sold to Freightliner/Daimler years ago.
I suggest you email Les Michaels at fcccservice@daimler.com and have your chassis number and Vin # handy.
Les has been super helpful for me when I had to get a new passenger rear rotor and brake pads.

Please confirm what chassis you have.

The 1989 Gran Villa could be an ORED (Oshkosh Rear Engine Diesel) chassis OR a Foretravel 8 outboard air bad suspension (U280 and U300). Pretty much no overlap between them.

Which do you have and what engine???
