Looking into Foretravels

I've been looking online at Foretravels in the 2000 to 2007 year range, pre-DPF, pre-DEF. The ones I see online all look to be in pristine condition... of course pictures don't tell everything.

We used to have Monacos; the last one a 45' Sig ... travelled with our Monacos for decades, but recently decided to downsize to a Class C... Got a Winnebago Aspect in great shape, does fit in smaller sites we've never been to before ... but too small for the extended trips we'd like to do. Maybe we 'downsized too much.

So we decided to look in the 36 to 40 ft range: Dynastys, Execs and Sigs mostly. (and the Monacos seem to be about a foot+ longer than the stated size number). I've been impressed by the Foretravels. There are some awesome U320s and U295s out there.

But still not sure of all the possible weak points (since I certainly don't know the Foretravels as well as the Monacos). I have heard about the "bulkhead" issue, not sure what to look for and where to look. Recently read (somewhere) about issues with Foretravel model year 2002 slideouts... that's about all I heard. So I am here trying to learn more here.

Stick with the Foretravel Uni-bodys. 2000 thru 2005. In 2006 they switched to the Nimbus and etc. May look fancy, but I think you will find that many think there was a change in the actual build quality.

That's because there was a change of company ownership in late 2005. The Fore family sold the company to an investment group (with no prior RV manufacturing background). 2 people from the railroad industry and the primary financing coming from a fairly "silent partner" 3rd member from the biomedical industry.

Not sure what the "unibody" means in Foretravel terminology. I know the Monaco "S" semimonocoque chassis provided a steel cage like the image below...

Meanwhile most MH manufacturers built a separate box (aluminum) on top of the rails of Freightliner or Spartan chassis. Not sure what the bare Foretravel chassis was like in those days. Anyone have a diagram/picture?
