New London Aire or used Realm

What would you do?

Getting ready to upgrade from 2018 Dutch Star next year. Need bunks....

Have heard nothing but good stuff on the Foretravel product.

Newmar has been a nice product, but not married to it.

Thank you in advance for your comments.

This may cause a "which is better" debate and intention is to not cause that.

Personally and knowing several Foretravel owners, I'd stick with Newmar.

Toney & Linda,

Look for RedRaider93 on this forum and PM him for he has owned a bunk model Realm for 3+ years and he will have a wealth of information for you. From his past posts he seems to be very pleased with his Realm.

Take care,
Oscar

Do tell, do tell. I too am looking at a 2020 Foretravel Realm <also a Newell and Liberty Coach>. I've heard nothing but good things about Foretravel. Hard pressed to find any conflicting views on the internet. What have been the problems you faced?

Personally I haven't had to face any problems.

But, I have several friends who own Foretravel so these issues belong to them, not the messenger.

Most are dissatisfied with electronics, slide issues, fit and finish and all have had problems with their air leveling system.

Similar issues that ALL manufacturers have.

I'm fully aware of that however most have had continual problems some to the point of selling the coach. Again, I have no say in the issue, just a messenger.

I have had a motorhome since I was 23 years old, now 67. I have owned 2 GMC's and then I bought a Foretravel. I did not know much about Foretravel back then. Since my first one I am on my 4th Foretravel.

I live in Houston so close to the Foretravel Factory. I also have a father-in-law that lives in Naco and everytime we would go to visit him I would make a detour thru Foretravel's parking lot.

I have known some people that loved their Foretravel's and have bought way more of them thru the years then I have.

I have been to Foretrave, Entregra, & Newmar's factory tours.

The reason I bought my second Foretravel was because of the way that it was built. At the time I was considering a Country Coach or a Foretravel. As I was looking into the build between the two coaches I was impressed that Foretravel would take the more expensive route vs the cheaper route.

The few things that come to mind of differences are
Slides, The High $ coach builder way or the way of the other 95% of coaches and trailer.
Air bags, in line with tires or on the inside.
And for me, living close to the factory.

On my 4th Foretravel, have a couple of friends with Newmar's, that are seriously considering trading them in on new Foretravel IC-37's

Toney,

I have a 2018 Realm bunk model. I have absolutely no complaints. The fit and finish is superb. Foretravel has the best support system for any issues that may arise. I strongly recommend the Realm. I'd be more than happy to ask any questions you may have. Good Luck in your search. Have you looked at Motorhome Specialties in Alvarado, Texas ? They have some used bunk models for sale.

Quality is very subjective, some people think they have quality because of cost and then we all have bias for brands. Having said that,I can say after having owned 4 class a coaches. as the original owner my Foretravel has been the best. Admittedly is was also the most expensive. I originally started looking at Foretravel for no reason other than having talked to many owners of fairly late models that loved their coaches. When looking at what to purchase it’s very difficult to determine if you made the best choice, regardless of manufacturer there is always someone who loves there coach and no doubt someone who feels as though they have a lemon, sometimes it’s percepion and some are reality. I personally would not hesitate to buy another Foretravel.
