RV Insurance

I am about to purchase a new Foretravel and am looking for recommendations on RV Insurance. Since this is a higher end coach, most mainstream insurance carriers cap their coverage at $500,000. Does anyone have experience with a RV Insurance provider that covers over that limit?

What does the dealer where you are buying it recommend? Those are a nice coach.

Yes, this is becoming HUGE problem for the high-end motorcoaches!!!
Geico, Foremost, Safeco and Progressive have caps around 750k.

I've been able to successfully refer a half dozen Newell owners to my State Farm rep in California. He has affliates in the western states that he can't cover. He's been a lifesaver!

Not sure how to connect you in NC, but I'd try them for sure.

Thanks for the suggestion, as a follow up I was able to secure coverage through a Good Sam agency. Interesting that it took a second call to a different agent of Good Sam who had the proper connections for a high end coach, but I got there. Appreciate your advice.

When I first went to get insurance I was surprised that I could not find anyone that would be willing to insure the coach once I told them what the coach was.

We finally found Progressive that gave us a price and has been insured with them since. After getting the coach I also upped my coverage on my other vehicles and upped my umbrellas coverage.

I financed my coach through New Coast Financial who recommended their own insurance which seems to be a broker for Progressive. Only experience is with paying them, no claims. They have been pleasant to work with in that aspect.

When I moved to NC a couple years ago I was surprised how difficult it was to insure my 2005 Phaeton.

I have Allstate but it's 9 to 10 thousand a year. If you pay the whole amount, it only hurts once every 12 months.

Funny just got a quote from Overland in AZ - we are picking up our 24 Presidential in July - the quote was thru Progressive capped at 1M ? We need a bit more than that to cover our investment- also interesting they are the referred agent on the Newell web-site. Not sure but will call them tomorrow to see if they can go higher on the cap. Reasonable price for the 1M though so hopefully to stretch it won’t be a crazy amount above premium quoted. Any thoughts or suggestions here ? How does someone cover a 2.5M Newell or Marathon?
