I see that Foretravel is putting the Tyron "safety band" on the new ih-45 and Realm Coaches.
So these devices must work (somewhat). Is anyone using the Tyron?
One drawback seems to be the cost. On the Class A forum it was reported that these devices cost around $1,000 per tire (22.5").
It's hard to believe they cost that much (it looks like there's about $200 or less in materials involved in it's construction).
Are these worth money?
Do they help maintain control during a front tire blowout?
Seems like half the posts I've read on this product are "against it" - the other half "for it". But if Foretravel is installing them on new Coaches they can't be all bad.

How many trucks have you installed these on or seen them on?
A Foretravel with a straight axle will react like a class 8 truck.
We keep good tires on the ground (yes they could still blow out) but we don't run Tyron "safety band", now if you run may pops then it might be money well spent.
They were on my coach, discovered when replacing tires. I have no intention of testing.

I've never seen any type of tire blow-out safety device on a Class 8 truck.
But Class 8s don't carry the family around and generally have more experienced drivers.
