Question Friendship G7 door awning question

Hello!
I will be buying a 2004 Friendship G7 this weekend. I have read all the good and bad and will still be getting the RV. This is my first diesel, having owned a 1984 Cross Country and currently a 1990 Southwind.

My question is about the door awning. The current owners took the door awning off due to leaking at the screws where the mechanism was attached to the body of the RV. The track where the spline and awning were inserted is still attached - looks to be original work - and the track is actually curved around the front curve of the body of the rv and crossed a seam on the body. Is this normal? Has anyone moved their door awning track so that it does not curve around the front and/or body seam?

Any help or advice with the awning is welcomed!

Susan

Could you post a photo of the awning track and molding issue when you get the chance? It is difficult to say without seeing how it was done exactly. Thank you.

Similar RV

Hello,
Here is a picture of a similar model year with the awning attached. The track goes across the front seam. According to the current owner, the area leaked at the screws that attached it to the body of the rv, so he removed the awning.

Any suggestions, etc.?
