Leaking water corroded Inverter panel

My neighbors Cruiser was having an issue with the Inverter panel behind the driver's seat not appearing to work because the indicator lights did not light up when the power button was pressed. The inverter did turn on, just no lights. We removed the control panel and found the cable connection was corroded. There was an obvious water mark on the top of the backside of the control panel and the water had made its way to the cable connection. I went outside and looked at the area just behind the drivers door and the seam where the driver's compartment joins the living area was poorly sealed. The worst part was the gaps where the sealant should have been were on the front edge meaning that driving in rain could force water into that compartment. Further looking and we found water inside that supposed sealed area. This was a substantial leak. His Cruiser is about a year old. I will try to add some photos. I recommend all cruiser folks check their rigs. Leaks and Electricity are not a good thing.

There is no sealant in that corner of the seam for about 18"

Recommend do leave SOMETHING OPEN DOWN low and/or facing rear so that any water that enters can DRAIN?

Ya that's the thing, there isn't any valve at the bottom. All we can do is aim the dehumidifier to get the last of the water out. We did reseal that area shown in the picture which in theory will keep the water out to begin with.

There is a bluetooth option for the control panel that would eliminate the cable but then it would still be an electronic unit in the same place. He is opting to move the control panel to the bed frame area closer to the inverter located under the bed.
