Hello Everyone!! Although we are not new to the Forum, we are upgrading from our 99 Hurricane 29D up to a 2005 Gulfstream Ultra Supreme w8292. Same length, but with slides, and better goodies. Spent the last three days unloading 5 years worth of STUFF from the bins and cabinets. Took up two bedrooms and dining room in the house, plus most of the garage. Next few days will be putting PART of it in the newer one. Kinda worried about it, doesn't seem to have as much STUFF space, but that is probably good. Looking forward to the GS forums, but will miss the Hurricane stories. Lots of good times in it, hope the GS does as good.

Noel, welcome to the Gulf Stream Owners Forum. We are glad to have you join us here. Congratulations on the new to you Ultra Supreme. I am sure you will weigh the coach after you get her loaded so you can compare to axle and GVW ratings. We have about 5000 lb. carrying capacity and used all of it when we moved in. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi folks,

My wife and I have been RVing for over 10 years in a pop-up, to a TT and are thinking about migrating to a MH. We are looking at possibly purchasing a 2000 Gulf Stream Sun Voyager Bus. 36 ft with a Cummings engine. We're excited about the idea of going to a MH. We look forward to any advise or input anyone may have. thanks

Steve

Steve, welcome to iRV2.com and to the Gulf Stream Owners Forum. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy it here. I encourage you to not get hasty and do as much homework like you are doing before making a purchase of any motor home. These are much more complicated than your previous RVs.
There are very many good buys out there right now and someone looking to purchase can really get a nice coach and safe a lot of money.
I am very satisfied with my Scenic Cruiser on Spartan's Mountain Master chassis. It has air ride suspension, air brakes, side radiator, Cummins ISC engine, Onan quiet diesel generator, 2000 watt inverter and had 5500 lbs of cargo carrying capacity.
These are some of the things that make the ride great, the experiences good and an all around dependable RV if the coach is properly maintained and taken care of.
Always get the maintenance records and have a qualified technician to do an inspection on new or used coach.
What area of the country are you in? What is your price range? Will this be for full time use or not? If you found the right coach, how long would you want to keep it?
You can PM me if you do not want to post publicly but many others are looking to do the same and posting as much as we can helps all of us. Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks RV Wizard.... We took the plunge today. We bought the MH. We had a diesel mechanic look over the MH. He said it was in good shape and the generator was in good shape as well. We're going to have them do a complete engine service (belts, hoses, fluids on both the engine and the generator) so we'll have a fresh starting point. the MH has been kept in kept in a storage warehouse when they weren't traveling in it. It has the Cummings ISC engine, air brakes and air suspension, Onan Quiet 7500KW Generator. not sure the watt inverter yet... anyway, sounds similar to what you described with you MH. I have a lot of reading to do to learn the systems, but looking forward to it.
