Just acquired a '92 Sun Voyager one owner with 84K miles. Many updates over the years and a well cared for coach. On 650 mile trip to home got 9.5 MPG cruising at 63 MPH at 2200 RPMs. I think it should be better but I have nothing to compare to. Comments welcome.

We have a 2005 SunVoyager and did have some stalling problems . It has a gas engine and the dealer said we needed to upgrade to higher octaine when towing the toad so we have not had problems since upgrading from regular octaine. It is a 38 foot with three slides and a king bed. We replaced the front TV with a flat screen and put a satilte dish on the roof. We are going to live in it in March for two weeks while we have wood floors installed in the house. Hopefully the weather will get a little warrmer.

Missed this thread we I joined over a year ago. We have owned our 2004 GS Endura 6340D since 2006. Been a great RV with few problems. Plan on keeping it for a few more years.

2004 bt cruiser 5270 no issues love it

I read a some peoples reviews. I have a 2004 BT cruiser 5270. I am picky as to how things run but I have had no issues leaks , squeaks or any problems. She still looks new, runs great , so I as well as many Gulf stream owners have nice units. I am sure some have had issues as with all manufactures. I have kept my unit well maintained, recently took out the older rugs and replaced with oak flooring because like my home we constantly upgrade and keep things up. Granted I can do all kinds of wood work and vehicle work helps. My fiberglass is clean and shinny as is roof like the day it was new.
I built a garage for it which really helps preserve for many years to come. I also repaint under carriage with black paint every few years to keep rust off unit. Those who park their units with no cover and let the weather take over it well I guess can afford to buy new units every few years.
We love the BT cruiser its the perfect size with queen size bed and 1 slide out we also get good fuel mileage 10 to 12 mpg then a big bulky C class or A, glad we own one, more so now that they don't make B plus motor homes anymore

. I feel I own a classic now and just like a classic car I take pride she still looks like new when I hit the road this season with 25k miles on her shes is new LOOKING STILL.We retire in 7 years and she will be ready for us to go long term. Now we have summers off and shes just fine.

The installation design is such that it cannot help but to overheat. There is no way around it because of the lack of air flow, and difficult maintenance, because of a lack of engine access, no hatches or access doors. This is fine if you have a surplus of money to pay a mechanic to spend hours upon hours every year cleaning and maintaining a very poorly designed cooling system. their design should have been over ridden by caterpillar and freightliner from the very beginning. Because of the stupidity of the engineering at Gulf Stream, they lost a lot of dealers, who refused to carry their Class A's, resulting in Gulf Stream going out of the Class A business. There were other much smaller problems, that were easily fixed, but the biggest one was the stupidity of installing an engine in a small cubicle with no ventilation. That was dumb. Results? Don't bother buying a Gulf Stream Class A unless you can find one with a Cummins diesel.

Some relatives of mine had a senser go bad on their Gulf Stream pusher with a Cat engine. After calling the factory, we found out that they installed an engine access cover on all models under the bed. We had to remove one wooden support under the bed to get the access cover off, but once it was off it was real easy to change the senser. Unless you've seen all of a manufacturers engine covers, I find it hard to assume they are all engineered wrong.

My relatives have had three Gulf Streams, the last being a 2004 pusher with a Cat. I'm not sure of the model, but they seem to like their Gulf Streams.

I also have a 2002 Sun Voyager, and I get just under 10 mpg and 7.5 towing a Jeep Wrangler. The only thing I have against it is the overheat problem. The Cat engine is mounted in a little room in back with no ventilation and the thing can't help but to run too hot. The design engineer responsible for this should be made to eat his diploma. Too bad because once you park the beast, it is a downright pleasure to camp in.

Our '05 Endura has been great so far. It was a one owner with less than 40k miles on it. The owner kept notes on everything that he did and had done to the coach. The coach was and is housed inside.
At this time the only problem we are having is keeping both the coach and engine batteries charged. The engine batteries (2) will only stay charged for two days, then they are DEAD. The coach batteries stay a little longer, even plugged in to shore power they will die. I carry a battery charger with me and rotate it from front to back.

My wife and I purchased a 2006 GS Friendship G8 in 2010 for the express purpose of full time RVing. It has just over 11k on for miles, 41' with 4 slides. We got a great price thanks to Guarenty RV. Here we are 3 years later with over 34k on the coach, a few problems (the biggest being the Aqua Hot going out). We lost the alternator bearing in New York but nothing super bad or that I could point to GS as bad workmanship. My only complaint is only 7mpg but we are pushing a barn down the road. We are still going strong and love the coach, drinks for 6, dinner for 4 but still only sleeps 2. I would recommend GS to anyone but service is the most important aspect of any used coach. Check those records and if they are missing, my advise is move on. See ya down the road.
