Striping an older unit

Hello has anyone thought of taking old pin striping off and putting on the newer style curvy striping on their unit. I want to give my 1988 gulftream sunvista a newer look a face lift it looks good for it's age but I like the newer swoosh design do you have any photo's? Would I be wasting my $$$ I've done a lot of work on the inside since I purchased it ,also the outside .

Here is a photo of it now I want to change the pin strips to a newer look and I might get out my paint gun and spray hood, and belly a different color that will match the awnings.

In my opinion, FWIW, I don't think the new swooshes would work well on that body style. I'm just not sure they'd 'fit'. What we did on ours was change the color of the stripes to brighten it up some, that would work on yours too. Also, you've got a fairly large white space between the windows that could take a mural of some sort, if you were so inclined.

All that said, nice rig! That's in great shape.

Here's a before and after on ours.
Edit, I guess it's actually after and before, since the 'after' picture is on top.

Did you put on the new stripping or did you have it done, did you also repaint it?

I repainted over the existing stripes. Miles of tape and plastic later, it's all done.

Podivin That looks great ! that looks like a lot of work you put into it , I am very surprised there is not more on the forum with rig's my age is this the oldest rig? I just want to peel off tape then tape along the bottom section a similar pattern as the swoosh strips paint it to match the awning and attach the swoops decals my wife is not fond of the straight strips and wants a newer look like myself. A Happy Wife is a Happy life and I swear to that!!!!!

You might want to talk with a vinyl sign and graphics guy for ideas that will look good in the end. Good luck and keep us posted.

I have been looking on ebay and searching the web for decals. It can get very confusing trying to pick a style that would look nice . I just thought there might be some on the forum that have replaced theirs and given face lift's to their exterior and might have photo's of before and after shots for idea's.I will be doing this over the winter months so it will be ready for spring camping God willing.
