Sun Voyager-2005-Slides not sealing at tiop

The slides, when open, the bottoms are very tight against the inside wall, but the tops I can see light where the seal is not making contact with the interior wall. Outside the mechanism is a central hydraulic piston with a threaded end and two outer supports with a braided cable (adjustments on each end) that runs to pulleys. How do I adjust these to get the top in tighter.

Hello and and to the Gulf Stream Owners Forum. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy the website and forums. Good luck, stay safe and keep us posted.
If you have awnings over the top of the slide out these can sometimes keep the top pulled inward; if they have been tightened too much. Another thing could be if there is not any (or enough) weight on the slideout; slideout topper (awning) adjusted to be taught when the room was more heavily loaded and could drop it down and outward.
Do not make any adjustments to the cable; it is used only to keep the slideout in-time (frount and read ends even). I might suggest adding some weight to the room, if empty or lets talk about, safely loosening the tension on the topper awning springs.

Adjusting slide outs

The slide for the kitchen area (drivers side) has a topper, the slide for the dining area does not. The coach awning covers this area when the awning is out. The slide on the kitchen side (with topper is out of alignment top to bottom) by about 1-1/2". the seal does not contact the interior wall by that much at the very top. the bottom seal is pressed tight against the wall. Would adjusting the threaded rod on the outside under each slide, correct this in any way?

No. The plates where the outside wall is attached can be adjusted to allow the wall point to be dropped.
