Looking at a Gulfstream
Looking at a 2007 Gulfstream Friendship 8414. 400HP w/ very low miles. Tires are new... Any info on these coaches will be appreciated. I am an experienced Class A owner. I own a National Dolphin gasser. Nationals are very well made. They used absolute the best of components in manufacturing. Looking for a larger MH for full timing. Any Gulfstream owner comments will be helpful. Thanks

Gulf Stream Owner
We own a 1994 Gulf Stram Tour Master, we've owned 5 years and love it. We are very pleased with the quality of the vehicle, the way it handles on the road. Best wishes on your purchase! Marilyn

We own a 2002 37' Friendship with a 330hp Cat, we have had no major problems in 2 years of ownership. We got a great price on it and it only had 29,000 miles on it. I have done some upgrades for modern needs such as charging ports for various things, removed the old Tv's and installed flat screens. Rebuilt a damaged bed frame and replaced all bulbs with LED bulbs and added a charge monitor. It rides nice, has good power. Most of things we have had to do were age related things, exhaust fans, vents and a few other things. But nothing I couldn't handle and notch money. All in all I think they are pretty well built coaches.

Looking at a Gulfstream
We bought an entry level 2007 Gulfstream Independence a couple years ago. Other than a few wear and maintenance issues, we are very happy with her. She drives nice and the build quality appears good, everything works.

We were a Gulfstream dealership. Many years we were top Gulfstream sales dealer. They made a well built motorhome, but unfortunately they are heavy. If you are going full time, I would advise you to check the carrying capacity of the coach you are considering. Some of there DP only had about 1500 pounds of carrying capacity.

We own a 03 GulfStream Yellowstone. We have had it for a bit over 10 yrs. Coach is very well built and just now have started replacing original equipment, A/c, Fridge, exhaust fans, etc. To bad they stopped making the Class 'A' they would give all the big name brands a run for their money.

gulfstream
Weve owned a 2007 yellowstone for over 3 years now. No major issues, still have original ac's and fridge. 330hp 8.3 cummings and pull a toad every where we go. Had an electronic throttle pedal go bad, (stuff happens). Overall very happy with the purchase.

What do you think about the quality of new Gulf Streams say, 2020 and newer? I find conflicting reviews on the net. Thanks

The 2007 Gulf Stream is a beautiful classic.
Other than being 16 yrs old going on 17 if in good shape and well maintained I would think it would serve you well.
Remember it’s 16 yrs old, like a 16 yr old car.
It will need some $
I have a 2020 and I spent $6500 this yr in maintenance and insurance.
I would think your insurance bill will be low due to its age.
Don’t skimp on the collision and comprehensive, if you hit a Turkey or a hawk like I did it will pay for itself. I recommend ZERO Deductable.
So use it, it’s expensive to RV.
We spend 4-5 months in our Rv just can say it’s worth the $.
Definitely not a vehicle for a few weekends a yr of trips.

I retired in 2005. It seems like they couldnt do without me as service manager. They kept calling me back until the downturn in 2009. They closed the Atlanta store on January 1 2009. I can not say beyond that date. I will say they were a great company up until that time. One thing I liked about them is I could tell them there was a problem with the rv and on the next one that came from the factory the problem had been taken care of.
