Bill - Bummer on yet another un-honest seller of a coach. (Yep, have had the same experience, including a flight too
!)
I've shared this before, so if you've read this my apology for repeating.
IMO - Most of the best coaches that are sold use, are never advertised. Professional RV Salesman and Businesses, often know about coaches coming in on trade in and or consignment, and match them up with Potential Buyer's that have made contact with the. (Our previous coach, 04 Allure, I met at the gate the day it was brought in on consignment at Holland Motorhomes, then in San Diego. I'd been working with a Salesman that had my lists of target coaches, and he called me two days before it came in.).
I just did what I'm going to recommend, so I practiced what I preach on our last purchase. I started a relationship with Damon Rapozo, and he was my primary contact at Premier RV Services in Junction City. (Louie is fine to work with too, but is often off and about picking up coach inventory to bring in to Junction City. Of course, Damon say's that he's still teaching Louie the 'Profession of Sales' (Figured I had to stir the pot some with them, as they're both great people, and I respect them both very much!).
Suggest, if you have not done so already, you start a relationship with them - and let them know what you are targeting.
And another opinion I've shared before, is that sometimes paying a higher price for a coach - can be a better bargain then getting absolute lower purchase price. I'd personally rather have a coach that has had documented and obvious better care by and owner, and am willing to pay a higher amount to get such a coach (Or vehicle, or item.). 5-10%, sometimes even more, for an item - is a price I'm willing to pay. (VPI Scoutmaster Turn Table with Great Northern Sound Audio Research 'massaged' Phono with NOS Tubes - is such an example. Looked for 18 months, and when this setup became available - I did not hesitate to pay the full asking price from the gent selling it!!!).
A bargain, can cost a fortune to bring back into 'Bristol Condition!'.
Good luck on your hunt, and best
