04 Intrigue Compressor Governor
Howdy All,
Well we had an issue a couple weeks ago with the coach not building pressure, thought it cleared but is back after sitting a 5 days in phoenix.
Looking for the Compressor governor, manual said back of the Service compartment. I take that as compartment under drivers seat?
Found this unit:
Is this the compressor governor?
Thanks as always,
greg

NO.
Compressor governor will be between the air system dryer and the compressor ; maybe even attached to the compressor . Most times connected with 1/4"grey lines.
Part is pictured in this link .
www.rvtechlibrary.com/chassis/airbrakes101.php
Read through then click the air brakes link , in blue print .

My governor is on the passenger side between the last bay and the bumper.

I would look at the air dryer purge valve, on the bottom of the air dryer, before looking at the governor.
It purges all of the moisture and oil in the air and can get sticky.
If stuck open, the air flows out the dryer and never makes it to the tank.
Some have threads in the ehxaust port that can be plugged, as a test, to see if air builds.

Ok checked air dryer. Not leaking
Replaced compressor govenor no change.
Had a mobile truck repair come out after checking most things and then using their air. It appears the compressor is done for.
Its covered under our extended warranty so awaiting go ahead to get work started. Hopefully warranty covers a good chunk
So glad it did not go out in the middle of nowhere
Thanks for all the help I will update when complete
Greg

Unless he aired it up, right at the compressor discharge line, He will probably find a bad line coming from the compressor. Compressor failure is rare, but who knows.
As long as its covered, let him fix it.

This is what you are looking for. My '01 Intrigue looks the same, and the ones on over the road trucks are very similar.

Sorry I missed that post. I am glad he found the problem though. Can’t remember the last time I had to replace a compressor. That’s a tough deal

Dfuelman,
We just seem to be lucky that way
Now we have to see what the warranty company will cover

Glad it’s fixed. Gives you a few more credit hours towards your Masters Degree in RV ownership. Lol
