Some of our Alpine coaches had the same problem. Not all the years as I recall, but it was always a bedroom slide. Must be flex behind the rear axle(s).

I took a close look at our 09 Affinity today, no signs of cracking anywhere.

I just waxed mine yesterday and while waxing checked real closely,no cracks on my 98
|

I talked with a gentleman from Premier RV in Junction City and he advised that the 45 degree cracks on the rear slides is likely caused by water intrusion from the corners of the slide. The bulge (in my original photo) is called telegraphing. This is where the rest of the wall was sucked down around the aluminum bracing during the vacuum bonding process causing the brace(s) to stand out.

If by water intrusion than why would they come back if all seems resealed ?

Good point!!
I do know, but the ‘06 we looked at had some problems because we saw this.....silicone caulk in the slide seals.
