Sorry to hear about this problem. Hope it will not be a dropped valve.

I am surprised that the tow was difficult. I know our rigs are big and heavy but would think most any of the companies with truly heavy tow equipment could handle it. What was the purpose of the second truck?

First trucks stinger couldn't lift the front axle, used the stinger on the second to help. The truck wasn't the biggest I've seen but it wasn't a small one either.

Did he tow you like this? His front axle is way under its limits.........maybe even on the negative side

Yep, that was just before he lowered the rig at Cummins NW. And, as I stated earlier in this thread his front tires were coming off the ground on some bumps.

Estimate so far is $5,100 and could go about triple that depending on what they find.

I am hoping they(where you just bought it) gave at least a 30 warranty?
Most anything used at a dealer, not out right private sale come with a minimum 30 day warranty???

Nope, AS IS sale. Even kidded with them about it coming with a 50-50 warranty. If it breaks in half leaving the lot you own both halves! It was a consignment sales place so they had no idea of it's condition, other than doing a complete service.

Kind of feeling like we should have ordered a '15 DSDP 4375 even though it wouldn't have been nearly as loaded as the Magna is.

Mr. D, so sorry this happened to you. We really feel for you--we've been stranded twice in the coach, and it is no picnic. Hope all works out with minimum expense for you. Please keep us apprised on what the core problem is--we are considering an 07-08 Magna or Affinity, and your issue definitely has us concerned, since most come with the ISX engine.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to you! Stupid question, but doesn't Cummins come with a 5 year warranty? I would think you may have just come out of it ~ and with a previous problem with the exact same cylinder you should have more than a little leverage to get them to cover most, if not all of it.

If it's any consultation, there's a well documented story of another iRV2 member who picked up his brand-spanking new King Aire, and had a total failure his identical ISX-600. It took quite some time to sort it out (and he was making BIG payments on a coach he couldn't use), but it got resolved. Look it up under the engine forum and search ISX ~ hopefully it will help your cause!

Keep us posted!
Mark
