2000 Magna alternator

What is the alternator replacement for a C-10 Cat in a 36' 2000 Magna. I can't read the numbers on the one I think is failing. Brand? Price?

Thanks in advance!

Mine was a Leece Neville 2824LC. A 160 amp alternator. I think they are made by Prestolite now but it is a direct replacement. I paid about $600 for the alternator with installation. Note that the alternator does not come with the pulley, you need to remove the one on your alternator and install on the new alternator.

I think some have replaced our alternators with a Delco Remy. Perhaps someone will come on that have used the Delco alternator.

I think I paid on the order of $600 for the alternator which included installation labor.

Mine was also a 160A alternator with a Cummins.

I just had it rebuilt about 6 years ago. Much cheaper than new.

FWIW. I would highly recommend contacting Jim Ferrari at AJ Electric (828) 371-1625. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful when I was troubleshooting and replacing my alternator. While I was at it I upgraded from 160A to a 200A alternator for not much more cost. The problem I was troubleshooting required an incredible amount of patience and he went above and beyond.

I installed a Delco 28si, 180 amp when I replaced my leece. It was an exact fit, half the weight and available at napa auto parts. 2000 Allure
