2001 Country Coach Intrigue 36

Looking for an older high end diesel pusher for full timing. On a budget so we are looking for the best bang for the buck and a well appointed reliable rig. Up until now we have been concentrating on The Monaco line and more specifically the Dynasty 00-02 due to the fit and finish and that Series S Roadmaster Chassis. My wife and I are going to be retiring soon and are eager to join the full time rv crowd. I know the Country Coach line is a bit more expensive. Any thoughts? Thanks

Not sure of your budget, but take a look at '97-'99 Foretravel's. They are slick side (no slides) but available in both a 36' and 40'. Fantastically well build coaches. Check out motorhomesoftexas.com I think Foretravel started using slides in '01

They may be hard to find, but the 36' U320 is a fantastic coach which should be available in the 50-60K range. Close to 400K when new. Would have bought one, but couldn't get financing.

CC has a loyal and pleased group of owners.

A 2001 Intrigue would be an excellent coach for me, depending upon its prior care and current condition.

Check the bulkheads on the foretravel there were some issues with them.

There is a 1998 36ft U295 for sale on the foreforums for 43k

Going on two years with my 02 Intrigue 36'. Likewise was looking at older well built coaches. The CC look is what mainly steered me. But now that I am more familiar with its chassis and construction I couldn't be more satisfied.

I love the Magna, the DW (when she was alive) not so much. She didn't like the bedroom floor with the two steps up over the engine then a well beside the bed on her side. She stumbled over them a lot at night. I got a LED motion sensing light for her, but then the cats set it off!
But it is a good, quiet and powerful rig. Don't plan on selling it anytime soon. In fact I told the DW I was going to be buried in it.

We have a 2000 Allure. It is a fantastic coach, very well built and so far reliable. I wish I had the intrigue for the hydronic heat, but coming from a winnebago adventurer, I feel very blessed.

Definitely need at least 2 slides for full timing. The 2001 Intrigue 36 we are looking at has 2 slides. The summary states the coach has been impeccably maintained with full service records. The photos look impressive. Looking for $65k with NADA at $51k Average Retail. States price is negotiable. Going to see coach Saturday.

We have a 2000 Allure also and we love it. I have been a big fan of the CC before we bought ours. I had a friend with a 98 magna for sale and that's when I started researching the coaches. I didn't buy the magna but found a really nice 2000 allure. My favorite things are the chassis is solid, now, I have no other experience in a DP. It rides steady as a brick if you will. Trucks pass and it doesn't move. Back roads, so sway and rocking. Inside I love the floor play and layout. I also like the solid and well built cabinets. Over all for our first coach this is great. Find a nice clean CC and get her all serviced up and enjoy!

fourtogo, if the above coach Mike posted is the correct one. This is the same floor plan (evening star) thats in my 02. I can tell you that this is a very user friendly lay out. The longest we have ever been out is three weeks, but never have come close to feeling cramped. Once the wife retires we plan on being out for 3 to 6 mo. at a time. We camp most of the time in state parks and the shorter length is very easy to maneuver. To be picky I would say the biggest dislike is the narrow hallway. There is three pocket doors, and have thought about removing the one going into the bathroom, as this would open the bathroom to the shower and you would still have the other two doors for privacy.

This coach looks to be very well maintained, and with some nice upgrades. Book value is just a guide for a average coach. I would be surprised if the owner would settle for anything close to that value. Be sure to look for water damage, and for rust on the underside.
