2002 Affinity PTL door cable latch failure

My 2002 country coach affinity door is a PTL Spring latch mechanism genism released by a cable from the top hinge and the release mechanism has failed. I ordered a new PayPal replacement hinge hinge that eliminates the cable but having trouble putting it on and getting the old one off as it's being held by 2 large Springs . Has anybody done this and can give me some pointers...

Oh, you got the PTL replacement. I should warn you, I got it and it's a piece of lightweight garbage. Notice how much thinner the metal is than the original and how much lighter the swivels or bearings are? It lasted about a year. The swivel or bearing that attaches to the door frame is held on by a rivet. It will fail. PTL are a bunch of crooks in this case. I dealt with them about this. They came up with a piece of lightweight garbage worth about $15 that they charge $100 for. I regret throwing away the old doorstop. It would have been better to keep it and figure out something to lock it open.
