2002 Intrigue brake drums

Has anyone had front brake drums replaced. I have 1 front drum that has some heat cracks and hot spots on it, the only machinist with a lathe I can find says he won’t turn it. I can not find any drums available. Do we just throw our coaches away just because of some bad drums ? Any help would be appreciated.

Must have had some serious heat on those drums to make them crack. I would make a call to Kaiser Brake in Eugene or take a drum to a heavy duty truck parts house and see what they come up with.

Also have the truck shop take a look at the drum and get their opinion about getting it turned

I don't remember which front end we have (Neway I think), and you should have a parts breakdown in your documentation. Give them a call for parts.

Don, I think one of the slack adjusters is not working correctly and caused the driver side drum to overheat.
I talked to Oregon Motorcoach and they have no info for the front drums, also talked to a Kevin Waite and he couldn’t get one. Cross referencing the numbers on the drum just leads to (not available or discontinued)

FleetPride in San Jose CA was able to turn the drums. 36.00 for both. It seems that very few places turn drums anymore as they are usually inexpensive. I’m still waiting on the new inner seals to get here and I should be good to go.

Looking at the documents for the front suspension, there is a breakdown of all parts with part numbers but nothing for the front drums. I might try to contact Neway just to see if they still have drums just in case anyone may need one.

While you are waiting on the seals, go ahead and call Kaiser Brake in Eugene. They do a lot of CC work and is a very good shop. That is where I have my coach aligned
