The PTO issue can be dealt with by fitting a wet kit but I have chosen to keep it dry (well it is grease packed so technically not dry) and have my service guys pull it once a year to check the spline and repack with grease. They take a picture so I have a "here's last year" comparison, adds less than 20 mins to the labour bill. I have done 32000 and it looks as good as 21000. The wet kit can still fail of course!
