3M/Diamond Shield Removal

My 2005 CCC Inspire's 3M film was in horrible condition. I talked to Ted Patterson with Wipe-Out about his removal process that I had heard about on this forum. After several conversations, Ted decided to attend the FMCA rally in Indianapolis that we were going to attend. He said he would guarantee safe removal of the film on my coach and would not damage the paint. He quoted me $1800 to remove the film and buff out the front cap. Or, if I wanted to try and remove it myself, he would sell me the complete kit for a little over $400. I chose to let him do it so I could watch the process. It took the better part of 2-1/2 days, start to finish, and it came out perfect.
The only thing needed that is not in the kit is a steamer like you would use to remove wall paper and you can rent one from many rental stores. He puts on 2 applications of chemical, 4 hours apart, and let it set for a while, preferably overnight. Then a plastic scraper is used to scrape of the film while applying the steam. He would peel off a 2" wide by 3 foot piece of film with ease. When the film is removed he uses an adhesive remover to clean the glue off.
Once that is completed, he buffs, polishes and adds a sealant to the cap.
He has a video on his website showing the process at wipeoutsystems.com.
You can contact Ted at 714-473-4291 if you have any questions.
