AC and the Generator

We are on shore power. When I switch the thermostat to Cool, about 10 seconds pass and the generator starts and the AC comes on. Same result if I set up the overheads to do heat.

Anyone know how to stop this?

Thanks, Terry

Sounds like auto generator start is programmed, but I would think being on shore power should over ride the genny start. What inverter do you have?

It is a Xantrax. Yep, need to get the system to recognize shore power.

it sounds like the AGS setting for 'TEMP' is recognizing that you have turned the AC unit on, and if the temp is actually HIGHER than what the setting is at, it is asking the Generator to start.
You can either disable the AGS altogether, or find the TEMP setting and disable it.

We don't use the TEMP setting on our Magnum MS2012 with ME-RC remote programming panel, but use the VOLTS setting, which tells the AGS to start the generator when/if the batteries reach a certain low voltage, in order to recharge them. Even on shore power we leave the AGS enabled because if we were to lose shore power for some time, the inverter would eventually use enough battery power to create the need for the generator to recharge them, at least until shore power is restored. : )

enjoy

Thanks for the help. I finally found the TEMP setting on the Silverleaf, turned it off.
