Access Panel Bolts

I'm trying to clean the screen on my lift pump and need to get access under the bedroom. I have a slide out. The book said to lift the carpet and remove the two bolts by the bed, or remove the carpet and remove the 5 bolts in the closet. Does anyone know where these bolts might be located? Is there a trick to lifting the carpet without pulling the nails/tacks holding it down?

On my rig, the bolts are covered by the carpet cut into flaps. If they are not visible, just pull up on the carpet edge in several places until you find the pattern.

Carpet seems to be tacked down with these awful, sharp (cut my fingers) tacks or staples. I'm in the mood to pull them all out and start over just to see the bolts. Seems like this is the only option, though putting it all back together in a neat fashion might not be easy.

Thx for input.

On mine the bolts are at the four corners of the panel and in the middle of each side. 8 bolts in all.

I just did mine to take it in for a valve adj. Mine had 6 bolts but I had to remove the mirros and the track on the floor. Take an pointed screwdriver and check for the heads. I opened the back door and looked up at the floor and could see the bolts. Cat shop just called they are done.

If you look at the floor from the engine compartment you can see the ends of the bolts. This will give you an idea. I don't know what coach you have so cannot comment any further.

I see 6 bolts underneath, and it's pretty confusing now. The opening is square, but it goes right under the corner of the bed which is in the slide.
Somehow I'm figuring I'd have to remove the bed, frame and all, to get the square engine cover off.

I think after talking with my friend in Midland that I'm gonna leave the screen cleaning up to the shop. I guess that once on a lift, getting to the lift pump isn't that hard. My major problem is that I'll have to drive 100 miles to Saginaw to have it put on a dyno to figure out why I'm not getting power under load. I've had the turbo replaced, changed both fuel filters, and the air filter.

Thx for the response.

Again, depending on which model you have. You need to just lift the bed to get access. Also, must take closet doors off and door track. It can save a lot of time for the mechanic. $$$
