He has one of the rare MHs with a 240 volt dryer, so it may be wired different then most.

Twinboat hit it exactly right. The 30 amp transfer switch only feeds the inverter but is activated by both the generator and shore power through the 50 amp Surge Guard/transfer switch.

Got an ESCO LPT 30 transfer switch. No way would it work without extensive wiring changes so I sent it back and now waiting for the Progressive Dynamics PD5110010V to get here. Cost me $16 to send the ESCO back but at least they'd take it back, lots of places won't take electrical units back.
The ESCO cutouts were on the backside of the box which put the door opening the wrong way and the hinges were welded on so no easy way to change it.
