Battery question.

Time to fix another issue. Im having issues with my batteries. I hooked them up today and The house battery even with the cut off switch in the off position for both batteries sparked when I hooked the cables on the house battery. I found the cable count a bit odd as well . How many cables go to the positive and how many go to the Negative post? on both, Chassis and house battery?
My Chassis has 3 on both terminals but my house battery has 3 on positive and only 1 on negative. is this correct?

For both house and chassis batteries the negative terminal just needs one cable to connect to chassis/ground (if you have a shunt on house battery it would be in between the house negative and ground). The positive terminal could be 2 or more for each depending on aftermarket add-ons. Why 2 is one goes to the cutoff switch another is for monitoring such as lp gas detector (for house) and diesel fuel level (for chassis)...

There is always a spark when connecting up an inverter/charger.
