I’m thinking because the battery boost will not light or actually boast the chassis battery any insights would be great

The boost solenoid is typically located in the battery bay. It is connected when engine oil pressure switch is closed (engine running), and when you manually close with the boost switch. It is simple to test with a volt meter.
Your chassis batteries should be connected to the same side as the alternator, so should charge independent of boost solenoid operation. There is a charge follower, typically Xantrex Echo charger that charges chassis batteries from house charger system while connected to shore power. Check the operation of the Echo charger (if original from factory).
